Springerle Cookies

Springerle cookies are traditional holiday cookies from Germany, Austria and Bavaria. They are white, anise or orange flavored and the imprinted images on the cookies are magnificent to behold. Specialty molds or rolling pins are used to create the impressions and they can be hand painted with edible colors to enhance their beauty.

Exchanging springerle during the holidays is a common practice and the cookies are used to celebrate all of life's special occasions.

Join Executive Chef Arleen Lloyd for a wonderful adventure into the world of springerle cookies. You'll learn how to make the dough, create the impressions and how to hand paint your masterpieces. Baking will not be done in class, as the cookies must "cure" overnight prior to baking.

Bring an apron, 2 cookie trays with sides, and wear closed toe shoes. Class size is limited, so register early.
