Milissa Takashima
Milissa Takashima's passion for baking began as a child as she watched the women of her family bake bread and pastries for all occasions. Her Italian heritage played a large role in defining who she would be as a baker. The quest for the perfect combination of ingredients coupled with exquisite design elements created the most splendid alchemy.
Milissa decided to leave the corporate world to become a stay at home mom soon after having her first child. Never one to sit idle and needing to feed her creative hunger, she parlayed her experience as a marketing executive in the apparel industry into her own catering business called Mili’s Sweets. She single handedly creates and delivers nut free custom cupcakes, cakes and sweets throughout San Diego County. She also specializes in party-styling services with her sweets as the focus. Her hard work paid off when Mii’s Sweets was awarded the title, "Best Cupcakes In San Diego" from a local Cupcake Wars television program proving that cupcakes were her specialty.
Many of her cakes have been featured on Cakecentral.com as the most viewed and downloaded on their website. In the spring of 2011, she used her cupcakes to raise more than $5,000 in donations for the American Red Cross for Japan tsunami relief. Mili's Sweets offers more than 60 cake flavors and her custom fondant decorations are made to order and shipped worldwide.
Takashima earned her bachelor's degree from San Diego State University. She currently lives in San Marcos with her husband and their two children.
